First Visit / Consultation

First ExamTo find out if we can help you, we ask questions and listen. During your consultation visit we will take a thorough history, followed by a physical examination. We will also report to you what we have found and answer all your questions.

Since Chiropractic Care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our patients fully understand their Treatment Plan. The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy.

Often, we will also administer advice during this visit that will ultimately aid and speed each patient’s recovery.

Regular Visits

Woman Receiving TreatmentAfter the investment of time needed on the first visit, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length.

In a word: no. A typical visit may require just a few, highly-focused, minutes or occasionally a bit more time.

But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly determine your progress and the treatment needed and with it successfully administered, get you on your way. We recognise your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimise the impact on your busy life.

The frequency of your regular visits is determined by several factors such as your history, severity of the condition, your age and what impact your day to day life has on your progress. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.

Progress Visit

At regular intervals during your treatment plan we will schedule a slightly longer visit where we establish your level of recovery and progress.

We’ll conduct several of the tests we performed on your first visit. This will give us a way to compare where you are, in relation to where you were. This is essential for establishing an up to date treatment plan for your future care.

With your progress verified by objective examination protocols, we usually modify your visit schedule. With the momentum established from the intensive schedule during the early part of your care, we can often reduce your visit frequency without sacrificing continued progress. During this second phase of your treatment it is also normal for us to implement rehabilitative exercises that will help to prevent any future re-occurrence of your condition.

About this time, many patients are feeling significantly better. Sometimes they may be tempted to discontinue their care. Please note that you may be predisposed to a relapse if you discontinue care before supporting muscles and ligaments are fully healed. That’s something that happens after symptoms disappear. Naturally, how long you benefit from chiropractic is always up to you.
