Headaches & Migraines Lecture & Workshop

Worried Young Man

Headaches: Common But Not Normal!

Did you know that there are many types of headaches?

Tension – Sufferers feel a constant ache in the head and neck areas.
Migraine – A vascular-type headache with sensitivity to sound and light.
Cluster – Usually lasts 30-60 minutes. Smoking and alcohol may worsen them.
Hormone – Frequent in women, these can be one-sided, throbbing headaches with sensitivity to light.
Rebound – Caused by high dosages of medications that contain caffeine producing a “rebound effect.”

As Chiropractors we regularly see those who are suffering from headaches. There are many types of “triggers” that can bring them on. A commonly overlooked issue is a structural or functional compromise in the neck.

The fatigue caused from forward head carriage, in which the head juts out in front of the body, is a common cause. Common, but not normal. Thankfully, chiropractic is often helpful.
