New Clients at The Wellness Centre (Castle Quay)

At The Wellness Centre (Castle Quay), we believe that true health and wellbeing is a life journey, rather than just a destination. Strong relationships are crucial for long-term health, and with this in mind, our team of experienced practitioners & therapists make time to get to know every one of their patients & clients, and work closely together to provide the best care for each individual person.

Chiropractic New Patients

Many Patients may feel a bit anxious in anticipation of their first visit. Not knowing what to expect and often presenting with a painful condition can naturally cause a small degree of anxiety. Our specialised team are here to help and make you feel at ease. If you have any questions prior to your consultation, please feel free to contact our office at any time and we will be happy to answer any concerns you may have.

During your consultation visit, your Chiropractor will explain what to expect from each visit and give you plenty of time to tell us how we can best help you to reach your goals. This will be followed by a physical examination and any other relevant investigations such as x-rays, scans etc (if required). At the end of this process, your Chiropractor will have a good understanding of your problem and what treatment will be best suited.

During this visit your Chiropractor will do a detailed report of findings based on your fist visit and answer all your questions. As chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our patients fully understand their treatment plan. The best results from chiropractic care come when the chiropractor and patient work together as a team.

Bring a family member or a friend… During your second visit there can be a lot of information to take in, so most of our patients find it helpful to bring someone with them to help process the information and to ask questions.

If you agree with our recommended care plan, we will also start your treatment during this visit.

After the investment of time needed on the first visit, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. In a word: no. A typical visit may require just a few, highly-focused, minutes or occasionally a bit more time. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly determine your progress and the treatment needed and with it successfully administered, get you on your way. We recognise your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimise the impact on your busy life. The frequency of your regular visits is determined by several factors such as your history, severity of the condition, your age and what impact your day-to-day life has on your progress. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.

At regular intervals during your treatment plan, we will schedule a slightly longer visit where we establish your level of recovery and progress. We’ll conduct several of the tests we performed on your first visit. This will give us a way to compare where you are, in relation to where you were. This is essential for establishing an up to date treatment plan for your future care. With the momentum established from the intensive schedule during the early part of your care, we can often reduce your visit frequency without sacrificing continued progress. During this second phase of your treatment, it is also normal for us to implement rehabilitative exercises that will help to prevent any future re-occurrence of your condition.

About this time, many patients are feeling significantly better. Sometimes they may be tempted to discontinue their care. Please note that you may be predisposed to a relapse if you discontinue care before supporting muscles and ligaments are fully healed. That’s something that happens after symptoms disappear. Naturally, how long you benefit from chiropractic is always up to you. Just let us know so we can support your decision!
